How Our Reservations List Works

We maintain a master reservations list, organized in the order deposits are received. Each time we have a new litter, we begin contacting families from the top of the list and work our way down. Families will receive an email with information about the available litter, including timing, expected size, and available genders.

If the litter or timing is not the right fit for your family, no problem at all — simply reply and let us know you would like to pass for now. Passing does not cause you to lose your place on the reservations list. If families ahead of you select a puppy, you will naturally move up the list. If no families ahead of you move forward, your position remains the same.

If you are interested in a litter, simply let us know which gender you would prefer.

 

Our Puppy Selection Process

We do not assign puppies at birth. Instead, we wait until the puppies are approximately 8 weeks old, when we have a much clearer understanding of each puppy’s temperament, confidence level, and overall disposition.

At approximately 7–7.5 weeks of age, puppies:

• Receive a full veterinary wellness exam

• Are microchipped

• Receive their first Distemper/Parvo vaccination

At approximately 8 weeks (+/- 3 days), each litter is evaluated by a structural specialist. This evaluation helps us identify puppies that may be retained as future breeding prospects while also giving us valuable insight into each puppy’s overall structure and development.

Once these evaluations are complete, we begin reaching out to families reserved on that litter. At that time, we discuss each puppy’s personality, temperament, and energy level so we can help guide families toward the best possible match for their home and lifestyle.

Families typically make their final puppy selections with our assistance the day before go-home day. Most puppies go home around 8 weeks of age.

Over the years, we have found that this selection process creates the best overall fit for both our puppies and their families. Our goal is not only for families to love the look of their puppy, but also to ensure the puppy’s temperament and energy level are well suited for their home and lifestyle.
